A Work in Progress

Scripture teaches us many things about dreaming big, thinking big, making God-sized plans because we are children of God, and how we can walk in His favor. The other morning during my quiet time I was reflecting on the idea of favor and blessings.

I had an unusual situation where I placed an order for a small deli tray at a very low cost for a party we were planning to attend. When I returned to the store the next day to pick up the order, the deli had prepared a tray three times the size of what I had ordered based on a few handwritten notes by their manager. As the cost was extremely high for the new tray, I declined the larger tray that I did not order. There was no time for an alternative small tray to be created. The staff member told me to stand by, and she returned after talking with a store manager. The manager had told her to make an “executive decision”, and she did. She blessed us with the large tray of deli items at the original very small tray price. I thanked her tremendously and blessed the work of her hands! We shared that huge deli tray at the party, and we were able to send deli items home with several families.

I shared this story because it points to a loving God, full of grace and mercy who longs to reward His children every day. I felt that the Lord was using this situation as an example for me to dream REALLY BIG dreams that are ideas only He can accomplish. I’m still a work in progress but I’m also Princess of A Lot.
